11G1 Sine and Cosine Rules homework

Written hints and diagrams

Q1e) Find the other angle first using the sine rule, then you can find x because angles in a triangle add up to 180 degrees.

Q1f) You have two angles already, so subtract from 180 to find missing angle. Now you can use the sine rule.

Q2 Find length of line AC first by using the cosine rule - remember to square root! Then find AB using sine rule.

Q3 Draw a diagram and take care labelling it.

So if AC is 14cm, AM or CM are 7cm
Similarly, if BD is 20cm, BM or DM are 10cm

You can now work out angle CBM using sine rule which is a start and take it from there!

Q4 Remember, bearings are always measured from North. Again, draw a diagram.

This one's actually quite easy - but then I would say that.......ok angles in a triangle add up to 180 then sine rule.

A tough homework, so if you do want any more help, send a comment or breaks, lunchtime etc.
